Judiciary To Hold An Open Day

In its quest to engage more with the public, Judiciary is set to have an open day, the first of its kind in recent years. The event is scheduled to take place on 5th October 2023 at the Chichiri Court House, Blantyre from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm under the theme, ‘Serving people Better’. The Honourable the Chief Justice, Rizine R. Mzikamanda, SC is expected to address the gathering.

The event will start with a fun walk from Chichiri Upper Stadium through Chichiri Roundabout to the Court House where a number of activities have been organised including a traditional dance and a comedy.

The Supreme Court of Appeal and each of the Divisions of the High Court namely: Civil; Criminal; Commercial; Revenue; Family and Probate; and the Financial Crimes Division will have information desks where members of the public can get information about the Courts and how they work. The Industrial Relations Court, the Magistrate Courts, and the Child Justice Court will also have their own information desks with their personnel ready to engage with the public.
