Supreme Court of Appeal Justices of Appeal and High Court Judges have convened in Lilongwe for a two-day caucus beginning from 13th to 14th August, 2024 under the theme, ‘Renewed Commitment to Professionalism and Efficiency in the Judiciary’.
This year’s caucus will focus on the core business of the judiciary, which is administration of justice and judges’ welfare.
On administration of justice, some of the sub-topics that are being discussed under this, include: anatomy of delayed cases, legislative interventions that are in the offing to address some of the challenges faced in the delivery justice. The other sub-topic is on the distribution and circulation of Supreme Court of Appeal and High Court judgments within the judiciary and to other stakeholders.
On welfare, the discussion will essentially focus on physical wellness, mental health and conditions of service.
