His Excellency the State President, Dr Lazarus Chakwera on 16th April, 2024 appointed Justice of Appeal Lovemore Chikopa, SC as Deputy Chief Justice of the Republic of Malawi. 

In a continued quest to uphold the Constitution and ensure independence, professionalism and impartial management of electoral cases, the Judiciary and the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) with support from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized a debriefing session for Justices of the Supreme Court of Appeal for Malawi. The Debriefing Session took place on the 17th April, 2024 in Lilongwe.
